21 GIRLS

The 21 Girls program began in 2018, when 21 girls entered first grade at Colegio Horeb. At the time, regional education statistics suggested that only four of those girls would continue through ninth grade. WIND created 21 Girls to encourage those students to stay in school by connecting each girl with a sponsor.

You can help change this! What if 100% of these girls graduate from ninth grade?

In 2018 WIND started the 21 GIRLS program to encourage that year’s class of 21 first grade girls to stay in school through ninth grade by matching each student with a sponsor.

21 GIRLS sponsors encourage students through financial support, prayer and communication.

Since 2018, WIND has continued matching incoming first-grade girls at Colegio Horeb with sponsors through the 21 Girls program.

How 21 Girls Sponsorship Works

A sponsor’s $39 tax-deductible monthly donation enables one girl to stay in school.

Sponsors are connected with one specific child. You will receive a photo of your student, and you are encouraged to pray, send birthday cards and letters, and even visit her in Cotzal!

Sponsored students do not receive direct cash benefits. Sponsorship helps support their education and the work of Colegio Horeb, including teacher salaries, educational materials, meals, student activities, and other school needs.

Become a 21 Girls Sponsor. You will be contacted with your sponsored girl’s picture and information.

We currently have many girls who need sponsors.

CAN YOU HELP THESE GIRLS STAY IN SCHOOL AND CHANGE AN ENTIRE GENERATION?

On a recent visit, a young student at Colegio Horeb grabbed my arm and asked, “Who is my special someone?”
